Design Consultation

Each project has its own unique timeline. Our schedule has two parts – Design/File Prep/Printing and Installation. Design can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks depending on complexity and amount of revisions. The best way you can help speed up this process for any project is to locate your logo source files. Whether you already have a design made or need some help with creating an effective design we’ve got you covered.

File Formats for Printing Vehicle Graphics

Vector files are required for printing vehicle graphics. In some cases, raster images can be used but only when they are very high quality. Raster images of logos, or any designs, cannot be used for cut decals. Any elements you would like included in the design must be in vector format – refer to our alternatives in this document.

Typically the best way to locate the necessary files to send to your vehicle wrap shop are starting from the beginning:
Where was the logo made? Did the designer send a folder with source files of the logo? Did the designer only provide raster image files of the logo? Was the logo made by a family member or friend? Was the logo made on an online logo generator or editor?

Locating these files can sometimes be difficult. If you are not able to locate these files, we can send the files to be vectorized, which is manually done. The average cost of vectorizing a logo is $75-$150 depending on complexity. This means that we will manually trace your provided image of a logo, and create a vector file for it. This file will be provided to you for no additional charge which is typically needed for any similar service such as signage, apparel, and other printing applications.

It’s important to note that while we take care of the vectorization process, we cannot be responsible for confirming copyrights for artwork provided to us.

Why can’t you print with non-vector files?

Printing non-vector (raster) files can lead to quality issues due to their resolution dependence and pixel-based nature. Raster images become pixelated and lose detail when printed at larger sizes than their original resolution permits. Exceptions include using very high-quality raster images (150 DPI or higher) at their intended size or in full coverage areas where pixelation is less noticeable. Logos and symbols are best provided as vector files for optimal scalability and print quality. While high-quality raster images can work in specific cases, vector files remain the preferred choice for printing due to their resolution independence and edit-ability.

Online Image-to-Vector Conversion Websites

Some online design tools promise they can transfer your raster images into vectors but they are not always accurate. Many online conversion websites claim to switch file formats, yet they fall short in true raster-to-vector conversion. While some platforms attempt automated vectorization, the result can be disappointing. The converted image might sport vector paths, but intricate details are often lost, resulting in lower quality compared to the original. Authentic raster-to-vector conversion demands manual tracing and a deep understanding of design principles to create precise vector paths. So, while convenience is tempting, investing in manual vectorization guarantees high-quality results that retain the essence of your design.

Printing Vehicle Graphics

The design we’ve crafted is now ready to come to life through the printing process. Our in house, high resolution wide format printers produce the design on large sheets of vinyl, tailored to the specific dimensions of your vehicle. The printing process is critical to achieving a crisp and vibrant final result.

Preparing the Vehicle

Before the wrap installation begins, the vehicle must undergo thorough preparation. A clean canvas is essential for optimal adhesion, so the vehicle is meticulously washed, dried, and degreased. This step ensures that no dirt, dust, or residue interferes with the vinyl’s bond to the vehicle’s surface.

Installation and Quality Inspection

Skilled installers carefully apply the printed vinyl to the vehicle, ensuring that the design aligns precisely, and there are no wrinkles, bubbles, or creases. This step requires experience and precision, and the duration may vary depending on the complexity of the design and the vehicle’s size. Ensure everything has been installed to the highest quality and there are no bubbles or imperfections in the wrap. The installation process can take anywhere from 2-3 days for a typical project, with larger projects ranging 1-2 weeks.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Maintaining the pristine condition of your wrap is a straightforward task. It’s advisable to avoid car washes for wrapped vehicles. Instead, you can easily clean the wrap with a gentle solution of dish soap and water using a soft sponge. When dealing with stubborn tars and oils, citrus-based adhesive removers are effective for safe and thorough cleaning.
